How Do You Wish Your Life Would Be by following Him?
Attended a Sunday service in a morning. A sister was leading song but I did not know what is the name of the song. The content is from the book of Matthew 6:25-34, Do Not Worry. Though it is just a simple song but so many thoughts that running on my mind.
Many people misunderstood that believe in Jesus will make life better, free from all kind of disasters. This mistake make many Christians especially the new believers choose to leave the faith and go on their own way.
Bible never promise us that following Jesus ensure everything will go smoothly and every aspiration of our heart will be achieved. Somehow people get the notion when God blesses, it means that He will give us great things and perfect circumstances. Some even expect that believe in Christ and we will have the tendency to have better lives than those who do not believe in Jesus. And sometimes, people believe that extended discomfort means there is something they have done wrong or lack of faith to God. (Okay I admit that I used to be this kind of people)
Questions most asked by Christians are, 'I prayed to God but nothing happen'. "If God loves me, why won't He protect me instead of letting this happen to me?" Another way that people felt that God had failed them happened when He did not respond to request for help during difficult times.
Believing in Jesus doesn't make our life better. Obstacles still occur but what changes is our value. We know there is someone who will accompany us always, grant us real peace and joy. He promises to accomplish at the end of time. This is the faith that we keep in our heart.
During this new year season, people would hope that everything go smoothly throughout the year. But what I wish is no matter the circumstances, always stay grateful.
